About British Deaf Carp Angling

The British Deaf Carp Angling (BDCA) organisation, founded by Jack Sturdy in 2012, stands as a pioneering initiative dedicated to bringing together deaf anglers from across the United Kingdom. Over a decade since its inception, BDCA has grown into a thriving community that not only fosters a love for carp fishing but also promotes inclusivity, learning, and camaraderie among deaf anglers.

Jack Sturdy, an avid carp angler himself, recognised the need for a platform that catered specifically to the deaf community. His vision was to create an environment where deaf carp anglers could fully participate and enjoy their passion without the communication barriers that often exist in mainstream angling clubs. Through his efforts, BDCA was born, setting the stage for a unique community where members could share their experiences, learn from each other, and develop new skills in an inclusive and supportive setting.

As BDCA looks to the future, it remains committed to its founding principles. The organisation will continue to innovate and expand, ensuring that deaf carp anglers have access to the best resources, opportunities, and experiences. With over a decade of success behind them, BDCA is poised to lead the way in making the angling world more inclusive and accessible for all.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to Jack Sturdy for his pioneering efforts and to all the members who have made BDCA what it is today. Together, we celebrate the past and look forward to many more years of fishing, learning, and community building.
