BDCA 2nd Deaf match of the year at Sunnyside 2 Lake results:

The venue was a little bit different this time, the fishing lake is inside a holiday site full of caravans and there was a pub onsite! So some of us met up there on Thursday night for a social, they were kind enough to open up the pub exclusively for us BDCA anglers! Showed us all the history of their lakes, they have a huge room full of all wyreside lakes original carp that are no longer around. Then there was a VERY competitive game of Pool between the lads, in the end everyone won at least one game!

Friday morning we all did the draw for pegs, then off we went to our pegs to set up and start fishing. Now, the match results and the shenanigans that went on during the 3 day period

1st Place: Gary Watton – 3 carps

At this point i don’t think we’re surprised to see Gary’s name at the top again! As always, on top of his game and amazingly skilled angler! With 3 fish, he blew the competition out of the water!! (I meant Weight because the 2nd place winner was very close!)

2nd Place: Adam Evans – 2 carp

We were all very happy to see him finally catch his first BDCA carp and what a way to start! Coming second, he caught 2 fish with some lost too. Also the biggest one of the match!

3rd place: Callum Garvin – 1 carp

I feel weird writing about myself but what can i do…

With only one fish, but at a good weight i managed to steal 3rd place…. With a scaley banger! But maybe deserved because it was by far the prettiest fish of the match! And Quite possibly the best looking carp i’ve ever caught. Also lost 3 fish to hookpulls.

4th place: Col Douglas – 1 carp

Angry Scottishman scores again! But couldn’t beat Liverpool this time 😉 With one fish but only 1lb away from 3rd place! Robbed by me (Callum)

5th place: Stephen Willis

Putting his name on the map again, consistent as hell and great angler!

Another extremely close finish, within 1lb of 4th Place and 2lbs off from 3rd Place!

Overall 8 carps caught between 15 anglers, pretty good result compared to harsh fishing in Horcott at the last match. Next Deaf match will be at Oxlease on the Linear Fisheries complex, get your space booked now! Only 9 weeks left!
